Perfect to use as a season extender on commercial sites or to own at home, the Shetland is the perfect comfortable all-year-round hut. With its two double-glazed windows, single front double door and underfloor heating throughout, it’s built to be enjoyed in all weather and temperatures.
This beautiful, hand-crafted hut will house two people comfortably with its king-sized bed atop spacious storage and its fully fitted kitchen. There is space for a lounge area, perfect for seating or a dining set, as well as a full-size shower room connected to an 80-litre hot water tank for lovely hot showers. Though smaller than our other models, the Shetland has all the space you or your guests will need without sacrificing an ounce of comfort.

A popular option we offer is the choice to upgrade your hut to sit on a steel chassis with a steerable turntable front axle. This allows you to move the hut more easily should you need to transport it, and it can be useful if your site has adverse climate conditions where a steel chassis may enhance the hut’s durability.
The Herdwick Off Grid – Packages from £3,999 + VAT
Take the Dorset off-grid! Our Herdwick cross package opens up locations for your hut where it may not have been possible in the past.
Electrical supply – To enable off-grid living, we replace the 240v system with 900 watts of solar panels and a 12v DC system. Solar power and a battery backup supply a 12v DC system that provides down-lighters throughout the hut. To complement this, we also install a 12v DC refrigerator and USB charge points.
Kitchen – We will replace the ceramic hob with a 2 burner LPG gas hob and an LPG oven fitted in place of the microwave, so there will be no compromise in kitchen capability when off-grid.
Water heating and heating – Installing an LPG instant hot water heater will provide all the hot water required. Heating options include woodburners, gas fires, or hot air systems.
Toilets – We can offer a composting toilet as a direct alternative or a range of other solutions around effluent capture and storage, dependent upon the extremity of the site and access.
